Friendster
February 26, 2007 on 10:40 pm | In Me! | No CommentsCreated a Friendster account more than 4 years ago. But never bothered with it much except to see photos that some friends share. After that, I only log on once every few months to see if anyone showed any interest in making friends with me.
The answer to that, was deafening.
Wallowed below a dozen friends for 4 years. But so what, the website is sluggish, and I doubted anyone really bothered with it.
Then last night, on a whim I tried out this fancy new feature it had. It could pull all the email addresses in my GMail account, and run a search on every one of them to see if they’ve got Friendster accounts.
Cool.
I gave it a go, and it proceeded to pull everyone who’s ever emailed me, and everyone I’ve ever written to. Very fast. Very convenient. Just needed to spend a few minutes to filter out the business correspondences and such, and I’ve sent off almost 2 dozen new friend requests.
And in 24hrs, the number of friends I’ve got in my Friendster nearly doubled.
Cool.
It really tells me a thing or two about these guys. So free…
And so what if I’ve got more friends on my Friendster now?
Well, it’s nice to see the photos that they’ve shared online.
But it’s even more fun to poke into my friends’ friends list. Identifying the girls that they’ve had crushes on, which they’ve shared in casual conversation but never introduced.
And it’s nice to see that I’ve got more than a score of friends.
It’s still sad. But one learns to take what comfort one can find.
3 hrs delay!!
February 25, 2007 on 1:28 am | In Me! | 1 CommentBlasted Air Asia.
6pm flight from Brunei to KL. Delayed to 8.45pm.
Then, congested runways, ended up on a holding pattern for a bit.
Landed too late for me to take a bus to KL Sentral, and then an LRT to PJ.
Had to blow RM70.30 on cab.
That’s 20 plates of chicken rice!!!
If I feel like it, I might rant further another time.
But it’s late. And I just got home. And just cooked 2 packets of IndoMee for a late dinner.
Couldn’t get a kaki to do supper. Despite making the arrangements 10days ago, my plan to have a friend pick me up from KL Sentral then do supper together. Would have saved me maybe 15 plates of chicken rice. But no. Friend came up with some lame ass sounding excuse at the last minute.
It’s a cold lonely world, and you can’t count on anyone but yourself.
Big Sadness
February 16, 2007 on 12:08 am | In Me! | 1 CommentBought 2kg of BBQ pork in PJ.
Flew back to Brunei this afternoon via AirAsia.
Customs guy found the BBQ pork.
And confiscated them.
Private citizens are not allowed to ‘import’ pork into Brunei.
This country banned pig farms 10+ years ago.
Stating that the pigs are polluting their pristine Brunei River.
From a health stand-point, I can certainly understand this decision.
Bad enough that Kampung Air boys are swimming in waters polluted by their own shit. Best not to add pig borne parasites into the mix as well.
But they’ve also banned private citizens from buying and bringing in pork from Limbang / Miri for personal consumption. They make you turn your car around, and dump them on the Malaysian side of the border before they let you through.
I forgot about this. Else, I’ld have taken greater care to hide my pork.
I lost 1.5kg of juicy BBQ pork.
T_T
Managed to pull a pitiful face, and the officer allowed me to keep one packet. I still look like a college boy, home for the holidays…

WHY!? Is there a market for songs like this?!
As if it isn’t bad enough that there is music on ho slapping.
Or movies with puppet-porn, or gay on gay action between a hairy jew and a fat man.
WHY!
Do we need an MTV of a masturbating MUPPET!?
Yea, this is what I think of Valentine’s Day
