Adachi On Vacation
July 1, 2007 on 11:12 pm | In Comics | No CommentsMitsuru Adachi is going on a two week vacation.
Thus, I won’t have any new manga to read over the next two weeks.
Why am I blogging about this? Well, I’m also wondering why are YOU reading this.
I enjoy Adachi’s works, so I’m just plugging his name as often as I can find reason to.
This is where I go for my weekly Adachi fix. This bloke is scan-lating the run of Adachi’s latest series.
The End of the Journey
July 1, 2007 on 9:58 pm | In Movies | No CommentsReturn of the King was 3.5 yrs ago.
Watched the marathon in 2003. Starting with FOTR:Ext, TTT:Ext, and ending with ROTK. Walked into the cinema in the morning, left the mall almost 12 hrs later. No intermissions, cos the screening was running behind schedule.
But since then, I’ve not managed to catch the Extended ROTK. If I haven’t watched it, the journey is never truly over for me.
There had been a few false starts, once at a party a friend organised at his ‘day care center’; and another time at a friend’s house, but there wasn’t enough night, and there was a hill to climb before dawn, with a bum knee that I sustained from excessive cycling…
Recently a friend just purchased a pricey Yamaha AV receiver. To go with his plasma TV. So, it seemed a perfect time to complete my LOTR journey.
4hrs later… The only message I took from the movie is still, “Hobbits are gay. Or at least Peter Jackson thinks so.”
ROTK is a great movie. But it just doesn’t hold a candle to FOTR, or even TTT. The extended scenes didn’t do anything to the movie.
Anyway, the journey is finally complete for me.
