Social Spark review
June 13, 2008 on 2:46 pm | In Me! | No CommentsMy profile on SocialSpark just got verified.
Now I can see if I can monetize this blog which I’ve put in so many hours to build.
It’s an interesting community where Bloggers gather and meet each other. And also to meet advertisers who want to sponsor posts on your blog.
Several features make SocialSpark interesting.
Firstly, they’ve got a script that you install into the header of your blog. And through this script, they monitor the traffic to your blog.
Some might find this intrusive. Or, you can see it as a tool to monitor your blog. See your average daily hits, or the progression of your RealRank.
Instead of merely relying on Google’s PageRank, they’re implementing their own RealRank system. Possibly based on the hits that their script detects on your website. I believe this affects how much sponsors will pay you for your posts.
Well, it’s always nice that they give you these metrics of your blog for free.
Secondly, there are a lot of advertisers here calling to bloggers to review stuff. I’ve not managed to participate yet, except for this post. But I’ve joined the queue for a number of opportunities. A better system than PayPerPost, which is very first come first serve, and if you don’t log in at the right time, there’s no place for you anymore.
And there are many opportunities that don’t reward you in cash. These are mostly opportunities created by other SocialSpark members. Most of them inviting you to review their blog, and in return, they’ll review a post on your blog.
Find a few like-minded new friends. Help each others’ blog out. Build up PageRank. Better opportunities!
I hope…
Lastly, SocialSpark also promises to be:
-100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
-100% Transparency
-100% Real Opinions
-100% Search Engine Friendly
We’ll see how all this works out. Further updates will come.
