eBay snipers

A friend will be in the States for Christmas, so thought it will be a good chance to pick up some nice stuff on eBay.

Placed a USD33 bid on an Asahi Pentax 50mm f1.4 prime lens. Super bargain.

A similiar quality prime lens now is about MYR900 new, and price going up further in Feb, according to Pentax. Of course the new lens has auto-focus.

The Asahi I was bidding is manual only. But for a savings of almost MYR800, I can live with it.

35sec to the end of auction, and I was still winning. Yeah!!

But a minute later, I’ve lost the auction to a guy who bidded USD49.88.

Three bots / snipers came in at the last 30sec, and fought over the item.

I had no chance.
