Money in the days to come…

A huge article to read… but a good way to jump into step with current global trends.
Democrats taking the house and promises change in Iraq. People say Yay!
Iran also says Yay!
Israel says Bummer!
Cos they might have to take matters into their own hands to deal with the threat of a nuclear Iran.
We live in interesting times…
Malaysia’s Densha Otoko ??
August 16, 2006 on 2:33 pm | In News | No CommentsPopped into this forum thread on the LowYat.Net forums (our Malaysia’s premier tech geek forum).
Someone is trying to pull a Densha Otoko over here on our KTM?!
Well, if you’re too lazy to read the wiki for Densha, it means ????or literally, “Train Man”.
It’s a bestselling book in Japan, and is mostly a transcript from a BBS forum for Otaku, the Japanese analogy for a Trekkie. An otaku meets a girl on a train. Exchanged addresses. And a romance blossomed.
The otaku, being hopelessly clueless, seeked romantic advice from his forum, and found a family of fellow sufferers who gave him help and support.
This story created quite a phenomenon in Japan, and birthed a movie, which I watched last year while enroute to Melbourne. And even a 10+ episode drama series, which I downloaded.
Oh, GAWD! That was a horrible drama, with the actor continuously putting a sickly pained face like a dying puppy that should be euthanised. The drama, also, exaggerated the story to the point of torture. The movie that I never finished was a better version.
Anyways, it seems that a Malaysian boy is reenacting the phenomenon right now.
Get in on the ground floor and cheer this poor romantic on!
News: Can the world suck any more?
July 21, 2006 on 10:45 am | In News, Rants | No CommentsHere’s a video of a bunch of school girls fighting. That’s not exactly right, it’s just a case of schoolyard bullying. A few girls wailing away at a defenceless victim. While some joker was walking around filming the whole incidence. And other girls posing around, and smiling at the camera.
I thought girls were of a habit of demonstrating their viciousness through more ’subtle’ means via emotional attacks and social sieges. Seems that physical abuse and humiliation are not beneath them anymore either.
What’s disturbing is that this is happening close to home.
But the upside is… our schools are also producing budding war journalists. This bloke had demonstrated fine potential. Such a fine effort s/he had made to capture the event from many dynamic angles.
Malaysia: Don’t Discriminate Against People Who Don’t Speak Mandarin
June 7, 2006 on 3:48 pm | In News | No CommentsOur Deputy PM is pissed at employers who have put up advertisements for job openings asking for candidates who are proficient in Mandarin.

Quote of the day, “It is discriminatory. Such a practice should stop.”
The irony just blows my mind.
News: Mystery of the Crooked Bridge
June 6, 2006 on 5:15 pm | In News | No CommentsFinally, the mystery is explained.
After all the speculation and the debating, finally I read one take on the story that is reasonably believable. Although I have always had strong faith in Einstein’s wisdom, even this faith was somewhat stretched when I hear stories of the bridge in our local papers.
But now, a story that makes sense and restored my faith in Einstein.
