Still nothing.
Taking Photography Seriously
December 19, 2009 on 8:34 am | In Photography, Rants | No Comments
Sometimes I feel that Malaysia just doesn’t take its photography as seriously as other people.
But we’re getting there. Events here have reached a comparable level of disrobement. But the dancing still has a long way to go.
Mininova is Down!
November 29, 2009 on 9:46 am | In Rants | 1 Commenthttp://mnstat.com/images/blog/index.html
Been using Mininova for the past couple of years to get my daily TV shows and random movies. I enjoy its clean interface, that always shows the top 10 torrents in each category, so I have a pulse on what’s hot each day. New DVD releases seldom escapes me. Or if an extraordinarily popular anime pops up, I am made aware of it.
And now it’s gone. There are plenty of alternatives out there, but mininova was comfortable, like an old shoe.
Weak IKEA Stuff
August 23, 2009 on 11:30 pm | In Rants | No Comments
IKEA makes a lot of their stuff out of cheap chip-board. And this table isn’t meant to sustain the load from a 21″ CRT flat screen monitor.
Especially when mop water seeps into the wood, melts the glue a little, and the constant pressure bearing down on it… The table is starting to tilt.
But I got the table cheap, so it’s fine I guess. It fits perfectly in a corner of my room, and I spend a LOT of time with it. Still good value. Worth some DIY efforts to keep it going a few more years.
Tech: Google Webmasters
June 2, 2009 on 9:28 am | In Me!, Rants, Tech | 1 CommentPeople always think that what other people think about us, matters.
And in 21st century internet, what Google thinks of you is certainly paramount.
The easiest way to know what Uncle Google thinks, is by using Google Webmasters.
There’s just an easy verification process to prove to Uncle G that you own that blog / website.
And from Webmasters, you can find out how often G displays your blog in response to what kind of search terms. How well it ranks. And how often someone clicks on your link from the searches Google has given them.
For example, my top search queries now show:

It’s so random, and I wish there’s something I can do to optimise this… All my important, informative, useful tech blog entries that were written for the betterment of mankind aren’t coming up. Contrariwise, my Napoleon Dynamite review is tops, for a wrong query. And that silly flash game I played years ago is #3 in importance. Something I hate is in #4, #9 & #10. But the entry of Legio is showing up 3rd for that search query, which explains why the local gaming community (and slash-n-burn capitalists), are discovering my blog too.
It also shows me who’s linking to me, (mostly FB friends). Many of my friends stumble on my blog, and never start a dialogue on the comments. They prefer to keep quiet and think that they’re getting some kind of inside scoop on my inner psyche, and one day unsuspectingly, they might spring their knowledge on me and get an upper-hand in some kind of mindgame. I only find out who’s reading what when I suddenly discover another random blog linking to me.
Tiny Cute Fluffy is the latest one apparently…
