Comic: Dresden Codak
October 7, 2008 on 10:37 am | In Comics | No CommentsStumbled on Dresden Codak some time last year. Enjoy it a lot.
It’s a very unique webcomic with an unusual but very pleasing art style. There’s none of the dorm-room-fart-joke punchlines. The subject of the comics can be about mathematics, philosophy, quantam physics, and all very very surreal. And really cute in random ways.
But really, you’ll have to read the comic review and artist interview, which explains it better than my attempt.
Only pity is the slow updates.
But quality over quantity.
Here’s a representative comic:
Just lovely.
Comic: Calvin and Hobbes
July 15, 2008 on 4:44 pm | In Comics | No CommentsI’m sure that this is almost everybody’s favourite comic.
You can’t help but love it. It’s so sad that how the comic world works, and Bill Watterson’s creativity are so incompatible that he would rather quit drawing comics than to let some faceless suits profit from selling T-shirts and mugs with his characters on them.
Anyways, have you ever wanted to look for a particular Calvin strip. You know some of the dialogue, but you don’t know what book or year it’s from….
Now, there’s a way:

Some programmer typed out all the dialogue of every Calvin strip, and made it searchable.
It’s brilliant!
Amen
June 15, 2008 on 4:24 pm | In Comics | No CommentsThe following is a webcomic from http://xkcd.com.
In the author’s own words, “A webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math and language.”
The art is just stick figures. But the content is funny. In a math-geek sort of way sometimes.
It may not be for everyone. But I enjoy it a lot.
Comic: Basic Instructions
August 21, 2007 on 9:33 pm | In Comics | No CommentsSo, upon Scott Adam’s recommendations, I’ve been checking out Basic Instructions.
4 panel comic. Lots of words. No plot. Teaches you vital skills for social interactions.
3-4 punchlines every comic, so good odds that everyone can get at least one or more of them.
And in some strips, like the sample below, 99.99% of the average population will miss at least one punchline.
Not everyone has seen Arnie’s Total Recall fairly recently, and remembers the name of the muppet conjoined to the rebellion leader on Mars. And I’m almost ashamed that I got the joke.
Good comic.
Adachi On Vacation
July 1, 2007 on 11:12 pm | In Comics | No CommentsMitsuru Adachi is going on a two week vacation.
Thus, I won’t have any new manga to read over the next two weeks.
Why am I blogging about this? Well, I’m also wondering why are YOU reading this.
I enjoy Adachi’s works, so I’m just plugging his name as often as I can find reason to.
This is where I go for my weekly Adachi fix. This bloke is scan-lating the run of Adachi’s latest series.
